A mobile court sitting in Oshodi, Lagos State, has freed RevolutionNow protesters arrested in Lagos on Wednesday, August 5.
Agba Jalingo and eighteen others that were set free after appearing before the court.
Ekohotblog had earlier reported that some security operation in Lagos arrested and detained the protesters for allegedly protesting against corruption, insecurity and many other compelling issues in the country.
The convener of the RevolutionNow movement, Omoyele Sowore, on Tuesday announced the Nigerians would match against corruption, killing and increase in the poverty rate in the country.
The peaceful protest was, however, distorted by security operatives who in turn arrested the protesters.
The action of the security operatives were condemned by some prominent individuals in the country.
Human rights activist, Aisha Yesufu, in her reaction also described the action of the security operatives as shameful.
“Very shameless security agents. Where is Shekau? He has dared them again and again and yet no arrest. It is innocent citizens they harass. If one million citizens were on the streets how many will they arrest?”
