EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has been granted authorization by the Federal High Court in Lagos to seize 14 properties located in Lagos, Abuja, and the United Arab Emirates, which have been linked to the Kogi State Government.

Following an ex parte motion filed and argued by EFCC counsel Mr. Rotimi Oyedepo, SAN, in the case FHC/L/CS/301/2023, Justice Nicholas Oweibo issued the order.

Oyedepo informed the judge that there was a good chance the properties, including the one in the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world, were the result of criminal activity.

Justice Oweibo also gave the EFCC permission to seize the N400 million that had been recovered from Aminu Falala and was connected to the State.

Oyedepo further informed the court that the N400 million was “intended to be used for the acquisition of Plot No. 1224 Bishop Oluwole Street, Victoria Island, Lagos” and that there was a reasonable suspicion that it had come from illegal activity.
