JUST IN: COVID-19 In Nigeria Hits 25,694, Ondo State Governor Infected

Nigeria has recorded new Coronavirus cases with the NCDC announcing 561 new cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria.

The new cases were confirmed on Tuesday night in a series of tweets on the verified Twitter account of the health agency.

Ekohotblog understands that the NCDC noted that of the 561  COVID-19 cases recorded on Tuesday evening, 200 were detected in Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial city, Edo-119 Kaduna-52 FCT-52 Niger-32 Ogun-19 Ondo-16 Imo-14 Plateau-11 Abia-8 Oyo-8 Bayelsa-7 Katsina-6 Kano-5 Bauchi-3 Osun-3 Kebbi-3 Borno-2 Jigawa-1, northern Nigeria.

See below the newly confirmed cases as reported by the NCDC on June 30.

This development means that Nigeria’s total confirmed cases of coronavirus have risen to twenty-five thousand, six hundred and ninety-four (25,694) with nine thousand, seven hundred and forty-six (9,746) people discharged and five hundred and ninety (590) deaths recorded so far.

Meanwhile, Ekohotblog reports that Governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu, today confirmed that he had contracted COVID-19.

Akeredolu disclosed his COVID-19 status via his official Facebook page on Tuesday. His words; “Akeredolu tests positive for COVID-19. Earlier today, I got confirmation of a positive result for Covid-19. I am asymptomatic and not displaying any symptoms,”
