EFCC Chairman, Abdulrasheed Bawa
Eko Hot Blog reports that the Department of State Services (DSS) has invited Mr Abdulrasheed Bawa, the suspended Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The DSS made the disclosure in a statement issued by its spoksperson, Peter Afunanya, late Wednesday night.
According to Afunanya, Bawa was invited as a result of some “investigative activities concerning him.”
He added that the suspended EFCC boss honoured the invitation “a few hours ago.”
“The Department of State Services (DSS) has invited Mr Abdulrasheed Bawa, the suspended Chairman of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). Bawa arrived a few hours ago,” the statement reads.
“The invitation relates to some investigative activities concerning him.”
Recall that President Bola Tinubu directed Bawa’s suspension earlier Wednesday night.
His invitation by the DSS echoes the arrest of Godwin Emefiele whom the president suspended as the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) last Friday.
The DSS said Emefiele, who was arrested on Saturday, was being investigated.
