The Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly Funminiyi Afuye has died following a cardiac arrest.
Eko Hot Blog reports that Afuye, who represents Ikere constituency 1, died on Wednesday evening at 66 after a brief illness.

Afuye appeared at the inauguration of Governor Biodun Oyebanji, on Sunday and was said to have also attended plenary on Tuesday before the sudden turn of events on Wednesday.
