Just In: Ex-Yobe governor, Ibrahim dies In Saudi Arabia
Eko Hot Blog reports that Yobe State’s first civilian governor, Bukar Abba Ibrahim has passed away in Saudi Arabia while undergoing medical care.
Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni has confirmed the death of the former senator who represented Yobe East district.

A statement from Buni’s Director General of Press and Media Affairs, Mamman Mohammed, announced that the former governor had passed away on Sunday and would be buried in Saudi Arabia.
He noted that condolences are to be received by Governor Mai Mala Buni at Government House in Damaturu.
Abba Ibrahim a renowned politician who died at 75 is the husband of a serving lawmaker Khadija, who represents Gujba, Gulani, Damaturu, and Tarmuwa Federal Constituency.
Governor Buni has further directed all other aspects of the funeral and condolences to be taken over by the state government to accord the late governor a state burial and honour.

Yobe State mourns the loss of its first civilian governor, Bukar Abba Ibrahim, who has passed away in Saudi Arabia while receiving medical treatment.
Governor Mai Mala Buni confirmed the demise of the former senator, who represented Yobe East district.
In a statement released by Mamman Mohammed, the Director General of Press and Media Affairs for Governor Buni, it was announced that Ibrahim passed away on Sunday and is set to be laid to rest in Saudi Arabia.
The statement also indicated that condolences can be offered to Governor Mai Mala Buni at the Government House in Damaturu.
The late Bukar Abba Ibrahim, a prominent figure in Nigerian politics, breathed his last at the age of 75. He was the husband of Khadija, a serving lawmaker representing Gujba, Gulani, Damaturu, and Tarmuwa Federal Constituency.
Governor Buni, in response to the sad news, has instructed that all funeral arrangements and condolence matters be managed by the state government to ensure the late governor receives a befitting state burial and recognition.
Reflecting on the passing of Ibrahim, Governor Mai Mala Buni expressed his condolences and described him as a significant figure in the state’s political history.
The demise of Bukar Abba Ibrahim marks the end of an era in Yobe State, leaving behind a legacy of service and commitment to the progress of the state.
