JUST IN: FG Announces Date For Administration Of Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine

• The Federal Government (FG) has announced the date for the administration of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine in the country.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Federal Government (FG) says it will begin the administration of the over four million doses of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine on Tuesday.

It would be recalled that the vaccine donated by the United States of America (USA) arrived in Nigeria last week.

The vaccine was received on behalf of the government by officials of the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF).

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine has since been handed over to the National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC) for screening.

However, the Presidential Steering Committee (PSC) on COVID-19, in a notice on Saturday, announced that the administration of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine will start on Tuesday.

The notice was signed by the Director of Press, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Willie Bassey.

The notice titled, ‘Flag-off of second batch of Moderna vaccine in Abuja’, read, “As you may be aware, PSC has received over four million doses of Moderna vaccine donated by the US government to Nigeria.

“In view of the above, the flag off is scheduled as to hold on Tuesday, August 10 2021 at the Federal Medical Centre, Jabi Abuja,” the PSC on COVID-19 stated.
