- Fire has razed a popular Nigerian TV station.
EKOHOTBLOG reports that fire has razed Nigeria’s first full HD Television Studio, Hi-Impact TV, in Ogun State.
The inferno was confirmed via a statement by the Ogun State Fire Services on Friday.
EKOHOTBLOG reports that the popular television studio is located in the premises of Hi-Impact Planet Amusements Park & Resort at Kilometre 12 Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Ibafo in the Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of Ogun.
According to the statement signed by the Ogun State Fire Service Public Relations Officer, Bunkunola Kuti, the inferno was traced to a power surge.
The statement noted that the fire was quickly curtailed and extinguished by the firefighters.
Kuti stated that the “firefighters at Isheri fire station of Ogun State Fire Service, led by the Area Commander, Engr Akinwande Abiodun, turned out” to the fire call at the TV studio.
The Fire Service spokesman, however, added that no life was lost in the incident.
He noted that valuables in the studio were burnt to ashes.
EKOHOTBLOG gathered that the Ogun State Commissioner for Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, Barrister Femi Ogunbanwo, and the Director of the State Fire Services, Fatai Adefala had visited the scene on behalf of the state government to sympathise with the management and staff over the unfortunate incident.
