EKO HOT BLOG reports that about 50 persons have been confirmed dead in Jigawa State and many others were displaced as floods ravaged parts of the state.
Sani Yusuf, the Executive Secretary of the State Emergency Management Agency, while briefing newsmen in Dutse on Sunday explained that the flood also destroyed thousands of houses.
According to him, many residents have been forced to take refuge in other places in government buildings as a result of the floods.
He explained that 11 temporary camps have been opened by the state government and accommodated many displaced persons.
According to him, some of the victims are from Balangu village, where no fewer than 237 houses were submerged under water and destroyed with four people dead.
