Omotilewa Aro-Lambo, Lagos SSG Under Tinubu, Is Dead

Eko Hot Blog reports that Alhaji Omotilewa Gausudeen Ayinde Aro-Lambo, a former Secretary to the Lagos State Government, has died.
His family disclosed the development in a statement issued Tuesday night.
Born on June 8, 1944, in Lagos, he was 79.
Alhaji Aro-Lambo was said to have passed away earlier on Tuesday, May 21, 2024.
His family announced that he will be buried on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, according to Islamic rites.
The late politician served as Secretary to the Lagos government during the Bola Tinubu administration in Lagos.
“This is to announce the demise of our father Alhaji Gausudeen Omotilewa Ayinde Aro-Lambo,” the family statement reads.
“Baba died today 21st of May, 2024 and He will be buried tomorrow 22nd of May 2024 according to Islamic rite.
“Baba was a great Politician served as the Secretary to the state Government during Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu Administration in Lagos State .
“May Allah forgive him his shortcomings and count him among the inmate of Aljanat Fridaos.”
Widely known as ‘Packager’ among his colleagues for his unique ability of organising, the late Aro-Lambo was regarded as an astute politician.
Appointed in August 2000 following the removal of Mr. Babarinde Da’Silva, the late politician served as Lagos SSG until 2006.
The statement announcing his appointment at the time described him as “a distinguished politician, administrator and management expert”.
In November 2006, Aro-Lambo resigned his appointment to seek the Action Congress (AC) gubernatorial ticket.
The resignation, which took effect from November 1, 2006, was said to have caused ripples at the Alausa seat of government.
However, Aro-Lambo lost his governorship bid to Babatunde Fashola who eventually won the 2007 governorship election in Lagos State.
Besides being a politician, the former Lagos SSG was a member of several organisations.
He was the chairman, Board of Trustees (BoT), Eko Club Houston Massey Hospital project.
