JUST IN: Gunmen Attack School In Abuja, Kidnap Vice Principal

  • Gunmen have attacked a school in Abuja and kidnapped the Vice Principal.

 

EKO HOT BLOG reports that unknown gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted the Vice Principal of Junior Secondary School (JSS), Yebu in Kwali Area Council of Abuja, Mohammed Nuhu.

A teacher of the affected school disclosed that Nuhu was kidnapped by the gunmen following an attack on the staff quarters of the school.

The teacher, who declined to be named, revealed that the assailants surrounded the quarters, while other gangs scaled the fence into the compound from where they broke into the Vice Principal’s apartment and whisked him away.

He added that the gunmen tied down the security guard manning the gate before they forced the victim’s door open, saying, “In fact, even some teachers that are staying inside the quarters could not be able to come out because of the sporadic gun shots.”

As gathered by EKO HOT BLOG, the incident was confirmed by the Chairman of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) wing of the Nigeria Union Teachers (NUT), Comrade Stephen Knabayi.

The NUT Chairman added that the latest abduction occurred few days after the Chief Imam of Yabgoji Central Mosque, Abubakar Abdullahi Gbedako, who is also the vice principal of Junior Secondary School, Kwaita in Kwali Area Council, was kidnapped by gunmen.

He, however, noted that the union had written several mails to the FCT Administration and some area council chairmen to complain over the incessant abduction of its members.

Meanwhile, the spokesperson of the FCT Police Command, DSP Adeh Josephine, had yet to the attack as of press time.
