Unidentified gunmen have attacked and razed the zone 13 police headquarters in Ukpo, Anambra State.
The incident reportedly occurred in the early hours of Monday.
Although details of the attack are still unclear, it was learnt that the assailants opened fire on police officers on duty, killing a police inspector and one other.
The slain officers have been identified as Ishaku Aura, an inspector, and Uzoma Uwaebuka, a police constable.

At least three cars were razed as a result of petrol bombs thrown into the compound.
Reports say the gunmen sneaked in through the bush around the area, tried to break in through the wall but the policemen engaged them and they ran away leaving their guns including the GMG they collected from the Navy.
It was gathered that the commissioner of police and some senior police officers visited the scene of the attack, immediately after the incident.
