INEC’s spokeswoman, Oluwaseun Osimosu, said in a statement on Saturday that this was done to guarantee that voters who had yet to acquire their PVCs did so.
“INEC wishes to inform the public, most especially all eligible voters who have yet to collect their Permanent Voter Cards, that they can collect their PVCs at the registration areas (wards) from June 22 to June 26.

The commission urged residents awaiting their PVC collection to visit centres with registration slips, reiterating that “collection by proxy is not allowed.”
Ms Osimosu also noted that “PVCs collection is free” and enjoined those yet to collect their voter cards to use the opportunity of the extension period to collect.
