The Chairman of Ayobo-Ipaja Local Council Development Area, Chief Mrs. Bola Shobowale has reportedly passes away, Eko Hot Blog reports.
The news of the death of the council boss filtered in, in the early hours of Friday.
The council chairman has been battling against protracted ailment that took her away from office for several months and was unable to perform her executive duties.
Shobowale’s death came barely three days after the State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, appointed the Vice Chairman, Oladipupo Oluwaloni, as the Acting Chairman Ayobo-Ipaja LCDA.
He was appointed as the Acting Chairman, following the extended unavailability of the council chair, Bolatito Shobowale.
The decision was approved by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu in response to Shobowale’s absence, which has lasted around six months due to health reasons.
During this period, Shobowale’s absence was noticeable at several key events, including a visit by members of the Governor Advisory Council (GAC) of the Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and a council-organized graduation ceremony for residents completing an empowerment training.
Additionally, her unavailability has stalled the presentation of the 2025 budget to the council’s lawmakers for approval.
Detail surrounding her death remains sketchy at the time of this reports.
