EKO HOT BLOG reports that the LASG Campus Network, which connects all the computers from the state’s Ministries, Departments, and Agencies, has been upgraded, according to the Lagos State government, to provide flexible working schedules and security.
According to a statement made available to journalists on Sunday, the Commissioner for Science and Technology, Mr. Hakeem Fahm, revealed this while discussing the advantages of upgrading the LASGCN in his office in Alausa, Ikeja.
He said, “Lagos has strengthened its e-governance operations with an upgrade of the LASG Campus Network, an enterprise infrastructure that connects thousands of computers from all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies within and around the secretariat for e-governance operations.
The upgrade would improve services, enable flexible working patterns, improve Lagos State Government enterprise security, and enhance better staff management processes and business process automation. The main aim of the upgrade is to increase network availability, performance, and security of the LASG Campus Enterprise Network and stabilise its ICT environment for a smarter Lagos.”

Fahm added that the state economy would be run more effectively through Information and Communications Technology initiatives.
“Lagos is more resolute to run the economy through technologies, reiterating the present administration’s commitment to leading in ICT for the greater good of the state and Nigeria as a whole and the state will continue to introduce ICT-based initiatives and reforms that aim to bring developmental progress,” he said.
