EKOHOTBLOG reports that telecommunication services have been shut down in no fewer than 13 Local Government Areas of Katsina State.
It was gathered that the latest development may not be unconnected with the ongoing security operations against bandits in the North-West region of the country.
EKOHOTBLOG reports that the affected Local Government Areas include Sabuwa, Faskari, Dandume, Batsari, Danmusa, Kankara, Jibia, Safana, Dutsin-Ma, and Kurfi.
Others are Funtua, Bakori and Malumfashi.
The shutdown of the mobile phone services is coming a few days after the National Communications Commission (NCC) denied the plan to close telecom sites in Katsina State.

It would be recalled that the NCC had in a statement debunked a trending social media report which claimed that the commission had ordered telecom service providers to shut down their networks in Katsina.
The Director-General (Media), Abdu Labaran Malumfashi, had said that the Executive Vice Chairman/CEO of NCC, Professor Umar D. Danbatta, had spoken to the state government on the matter where he said the story was false.
EKOHOTBLOG had earlier reported that the NCC, via a statement by Danbatta, ordered all telecom operators to shut down their networks in Zamfara State from September 3, 2021.
The NCC Vice Chairman had noted that the directive was one of the strategies taken by security operatives in curbing banditry ravaging the state.
