EKOHOTBLOG reports that the Niger State Commissioner for Information, Mohammed Idris, has narrated his ordeal and revealed why he was abducted.
The Niger Commissioner, who was earlier abducted by suspected bandits in the wee hours of Monday, regained freedom on Thursday.
EKOHOTBLOG had reported that Idris was released by his abductors around 9:30pm at a location in Suleja, Niger State, and taken to a hospital for medicals.
However, the Commissioner, while speaking on his abduction, disclosed that his abductors came from Zamfara State, adding that they were not familiar with the Suleja terrain.
Idris further revealed that the gunmen told him someone gave them money to carry out the act thinking Governor of Niger State, Sani Bello, allocates N200million to his office every month.
He said, “The person who sent them told them that if I am unable to pay N200million as ransom, they should kill me.

“They drew the picture of my house, the exact way the house is. The person that sent them and the bandits, I forgive all of them,” the Commissioner disclosed.
Meanwhile, the Niger State Government has said that no ransom was paid to secure the release of the Commissioner.
