EKO HOT BLOG reports that Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the February 25 general election, has rejected an alleged audio recording of a phone call between him and Bishop David Oyedepo of the Living Faith Church, describing it as another in a long line of forgeries produced by the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In response to the audio recording where he was purportedly heard asking the clergyman to mobilize support for him before the controversial election, Obi cautioned that the APC is determined to seize and hold onto power by fabricating lies.
He insisted that APC’s latest move has failed woefully.
The former Anambra State governor spoke through the Head, of the Obi Datti Media Office, Diran Onifade, in a statement issued in Abuja on Sunday.
Part of the statement read, “All these are meant to serve no other purpose than egregious mischief aimed at demarketing Peter Obi. If the goal is to create a credibility problem, the ploy has failed woefully.”
He advised Nigerians to remain focused on taking back the mandate that was freely given to Obi and Baba-Ahmed via legitimate means.
