EKOHOTBLOG reports that Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Saturday departed Nigeria to represent President Muhammadu Buhari in São Tomé city for the inauguration of Mr Carlos Manuel Vila Nova, the newly elected President of Sao Tome and Principe.
This was made known via a statement by the Senior Special Assistant to the Vice President on Media & Publicity, Laolu Akande, on Saturday.
He stated that Osinbajo will be joining other Heads of State and Government, especially from Africa
Akande added that the new President of the island Central African country was declared the winner of the run-off election conducted on the 3rd of September, 2021, and is taking over from the incumbent President, Mr. Evaristo Carvalho.
He further disclosed that Osinbajo, who left Lagos on Saturday morning, was accompanied by the Foreign Affairs Minister of State, Ambassador Zubairu Dada.
Akande said the Vice President would be back in Abuja later on Saturday.
