Otunba TJ Abass Named Epe Division’s Philanthropist Of The Year
The Publisher of Eko Hot Blog, Otunba TJ Abass, has been named the Philanthropist of the Year at the Epe Division Community Annual Award (EDCAA) 2023.
He bagged the award at a ceremony held on Wednesday night.
Otunba Abass, who is the Aremo of Epe Kingdom, was rewarded and appreciated for his generous contributions to various causes in the community.
With 40.4% of the vote, he easily fended off the competition of his fellow nominees.
Otunba Abass will receive his award at the main ceremony which will hold at the Lagos Theater, Epe, Lagos, on December 7, 2023.
This award is the latest in the Epe chief’s rich collection of humanitarian/philanthropic awards.
In October 2023, the Rotary Club of Gbagada, Lagos, honoured him with a merit award for his immense contributions to the service of humanity.
Otunba Abass is a former President of Eko Club International, an umbrella body for Lagosians in the diaspora. The group is known for embarking on humanitarian operations that give back to fellow Lagosians at home.

He is the immediate past cordinator of Epe kayokayo Festival. He coordinated the cultural and social event for many years, bringing Epe indigenes together and celebrating the town’s excellence.
He changed the face of kayokayo festival to what it is now and that is why he is widely reffered to as the reformer.
The media entrepreneur is also the Cordinator of AMBSAM Foundation, a foundation setup in the memory of Epe indigenes who lost their lives in a boat accident during the 2015 elections.
Otunba Abass, in collaboration with Eko Club International, carries out an annual medical mission which takes place in the 5 Divisions of Lagos.
