JUST IN: Over 1000 PDP Members Dump Party For APC

• Over 1000 PDP members have dumped the party for APC.

EKOHOTBLOG reports that about 1,266 members of the Nigeria’s main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic party (PDP), have defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Jigawa State.

The latest defection in the state was disclosed by the Jigawa State APC Chairman, Alhaji Aminu Sani, while receiving the decampees in the Maigatari Local Government Area on Sunday.

The APC Chairman, while receiving the decampees, said the defection had clearly indicated that the party had fulfilled its promises.

The chairman, who was represented at the event by the party youth leader, Alhaji Ibrahim Ya’u, added that the decampees would be given equal rights as every member of the party.

In his speech, the council chairman, Uzairu Nadabo, further stated that the defection was part of the activities to mark his 100 days in office as the Local Government Chairman.
