Oyedepo, while addressing the congregation, stated that he had never campaigned for any politician or spoken on behalf of any political party in the country.
According to him, all political parties sought his prayers and advice before the elections, and he provided guidance to them.
He said, “Nobody had ever told me what to say in this world. No. I have never campaigned for anybody or spoken on anybody’s behalf and I will not do that till I go to heaven. There is no (political) party in this country that didn’t come to me for prayers and advice.”
Oyedepo further explained that he advised all the political parties that sought his guidance, and some of them took his advice, while others didn’t. He stated that those who followed his advice saw positive results, while those who didn’t went about it their own way.
The clergyman, who has been a vocal critic of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), reiterated that his stance on political matters remained unchanged. He emphasized that he would continue to offer prayers and advice to all political parties in Nigeria, but would never campaign for anyone.
