Friday, May 21, 2021, has been declared as a public holiday by the Oyo State Government, EKO HOT BLOG has gathered.
This was made known via a statement by Governor Seyi Makinde’s spokesman, Taiwo Adisa, on Thursday.
The governor noted that the holiday was to enable the state conduct a hitch-free local government election scheduled for Saturday, May 22, 2021.

Makinde, however, enjoined the residents of the state to carry out their activities peacefully and go to their respective areas en masse to cast their votes.
The governor further reminded the residents that voting was their civic responsibility as he urged them to participate in the election.
