A tanker loaded with petrol has fallen and spilt its contents in Delta State.

Sources said there was panic immediately after the tanker fell, as many feared an explosion.

The incident happened on Wednesday on top of Udu bridge.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that palpable tension has gripped residents of Udu local government area of Delta State following an accident involving a petrol truck.
The petrol-laden tanker reportedly fell on top of Udu bridge, spilling its content on the surrounding environment.

Road users and business persons under the Udu bridge have now begun to evacuate from the location over the fear of an explosion or fire.
The petrol tanker has also blocked the bridge, causing a serious gridlock on top of the bridge and depriving road users of access to the Sedco area of the town.
In addition, those returning from Ovwian, Owase, Jigbale axis have been denied access following the spill.
