JUST IN: PDP Chieftain Dumps Party For APC

  • A PDP chieftain has dumped the party for APC.

EKOHOTBLOG reports that a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Yobe State, Hon. Audu Mai Samari Babale, has dumped the party for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Babale, a former member of the Yobe State House of Assembly representing Goya/Ngeji constituency of Fika Local Government Area, was received by the State Chairman, Alhaji Adamu Abdu Chilariye, at the instance of the Deputy Governor of Yobe State, Idi Barde Gubana; Speaker Yobe State House of Assembly, Right Hon. Ahmad Lawan Mirwa; Special Adviser on Political and Legislative Matters, Hon. Aji Yerima Bularafa; among other top APC chieftains.

EKOHOTBLOG reports that the former PDP chieftain, who announced his defection to the APC alongside hundreds of his supporters, said he joined the ruling party because of its leadership style under the Chairman of APC Caretaker and Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee, Hon. Mai Mala Buni.

The Deputy Governor of Yobe State, while reacting to the latest development, assured the defectors of equal and fair treatment, adding that the state governor is capable of carrying all the citizens alone irrespective of political differences.

The defectors were presented to the Deputy Governor by the former member representing Fune/Fika Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Ismaila Gadaka.
