EKO HOT BLOG reports that Saidu Adamu, the Media Director of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Campaign Committee in Kaduna State, has been arrested by security agents.
Adamu, a former Commissioner in the state, was arrested alongside two youth leaders: El Abbas Muhammed and Talib Mohammed.
The offence for which the trio were arrested for is not yet clear.
A former federal lawmaker, Shehu Sani confirmed the development. The outspoken politician alleged harassment and intimidation of members of the opposition.
“Yesterday (Tuesday), in Kaduna, security agents have arrested the Media Director of the State PDP campaign Committee Hon Saidu Adamu, an ex Commissioner.
“They have also arrested two youth leaders El Abbas Muhammed and Talib Mohammed. Security Agents should allow free elections in Kaduna,” he wrote on his verified Twitter handle on Wednesday.
He added: “The APC lost election in Kaduna on the 25th of February; attempts to use security agents in order to intimidate and harass members of the opposition because of the 11th of March Governorship election will not be tolerated.”
Calls put through to Mohammed Jalige, the police spokesperson in Kaduna State, were neither picked nor returned. Also, he is yet to respond our SMS as of the time of publishing this report.
