PENGASSAN Draws The Curtains On ExxonMobil Strike

  • The ExxonMobil strike, which was initiated by PENGASSAN, has been called off.

  • Following the successful mediation by Mele Kyari, the Group CEO of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, a decision was made to call off the strike.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) has lifted its industrial action, which had brought export activities of up to 300,000 barrels of oil per day to a halt across all ExxonMobil locations in Nigeria.

The decision follows successful mediation efforts by Mele Kyari, the Group CEO of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited.

According to a statement released via Twitter on Thursday morning, Kyari was instrumental in leading negotiations between PENGASSAN’s National President, Comrade Festus Osifo, and the MD of Mobil Producing Nigeria, who represented ExxonMobil.
