EKO HOT BLOG reports that the presidential flagbearer of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, on Saturday met the National Secretary of the opposition, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Samuel Anyanwu.
Obi in a tweet said he “ran into” Anyanwu and other erstwhile political colleagues at the Abuja airport.
“We exchanged pleasantries and convivial banter. Our politics must be issue-based, and not about personalities,” the Labour Party candidate said in a tweet.
This newspaper understands that Obi met with the PDP chieftains while en route to Kafanchan in Kaduna State for a rally.
The Obi-Datti Baba-Ahmed presidential rally will hold at the Kafanchan Township Stadium.
Obi, a former governor of Anambra State, is a former member of the PDP.
During the last general elections, in 2019, he was the vice-presidential candidate of the party but quit the platform in May after realising he wouldn’t win the PDP presidential ticket.
