JUST IN: Police Arrest Bandits Petrol Supplier

  • Police operatives have arrested bandits petrol supplier.

EKOHOTBLOG reports that the Katsina State Police Command has arrested a 25-year-old lady identified as Rashida Hussaini with six jerry cans loaded with Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), well known as petrol, concealed in her hijab.

According to the State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Gambo Isah, the arrested suspect was allegedly an informant and supplier of petrol to bandits terrorising Katsina State.

The police spokesperson disclosed that the suspect packaged the petrol in used bottled water containers, then stack them in a sack and a handbag before hiding it under her hijab while heading to an unknown location.

Isah further revealed that the suspect was arrested by a team of policemen on routine patrol around Kofar Guga on Jibiya Road.

He added that Rashida claimed she was from Daddara village in Jibiya Local Government Area but later said Gombe State and again said she hails from Hirji, a village in the Niger Republic.

Speaking to newsmen, the suspect, however, denied taking the petrol to bandits in the forest, saying the commodity was meant for grinding machines.

Meanwhile, the Katsina police spokesperson noted that the suspect will be charged to court for violating the security challenge containment order recently signed into law by the governor of the state, Aminu Masari.
