No fewer than 64 people have been reportedly injured following a fuel tanker explosion in Kano on Saturday evening.
The petrol tanker, EKO HOT BLOG gathered, exploded into flames while offloading its content at the Al-Hisan Filling Station located at Sharada area of Kano metropolis.
Among the affected persons were the personnel of the Kano State Fire Service who had responded to the distress call.

It was further revealed that many of the victims were onlookers who had gathered to watch as the fire brigade battled the inferno before the petrol tanker eventually exploded.
Though no life was lost to the incident, at least 64 people involved were said to be receiving treatment at the Murtala Mohammed Specialists’ Hospital in the metropolis.
The incident was confirmed by the spokesman of the Kano State Fire Service, Saminu Yusuf Abdullahi, noting that eight personnel of the Service were part of the 64 victims.
