Scores Killed As Pipeline Explosion Rocks Rivers

  • Scores have been feared dead after a crude oil explosion rocked Rivers community.

  • The incident happened at about 2am on Friday.

  • It was gathered that one of the buses loaded with crude went up in flames while trying to navigate to an illegal refining point in the area.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that many people have been feared killed following an explosion from a crude oil tapping point in Rumuekpe community in Emuoha Local Government Area of Rivers State.

It was gathered that the incident occurred at about 2am on Friday when one of the buses loaded with crude went up in flames while trying to navigate to an illegal refining point in the area.

An environmentalist and executive director of Youths and Environmental Advocacy Centre, Fyneface Dumnamene confirmed the incident. saying it received news of the incident through its ‘Crude oil spill alert response system.
