JUST IN: Senate Approves Reappointment Of Abike Dabiri As NIDCOM Boss
  • The Senate has approved the reappointment of Abike Dabiri as NIDCOM Boss.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Senate has given its official confirmation to Mrs. Abike Dabiri-Erewa’s second term as the Chairman and CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM).

The Senate’s confirmation of Dabiri-Erewa’s appointment comes in response to President Muhammadu Buhari’s written request seeking their approval.

President Buhari’s letter, addressed to the Senate on May 2, emphasised the need for Dabiri-Erewa’s reappointment and highlighted her remarkable contributions during her initial term as NIDCOM boss.

Before assuming the role in November 2018, she was Senior Special Adviser to the President on Foreign Affairs and Diaspora.

Additionally, she served as a member representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency in Lagos in the House of Representatives from 2003 to 2015, where she chaired the House Committee on Diaspora Affairs.

During their plenary session on Tuesday, the Senate also confirmed the appointments of Bernard Okumagba, Patrick Aisowieren, and Kurien Uchegbu as members of the governing board of the Niger Delta Development Commission.
