Eko Hot Blog reports that the Nigerian Senate has approved President Bola Tinubu’s request to appoint 20 special advisers.
The approval comes a little over week after the president was sworn into office.
On Tuesday, Senate President Ahmad Lawan read a letter containing Tinubu’s request on the floor of the upper legislative chamber.
The request did not contain the list of the 20 special advisers.
However, the upper legislative chamber gave speedy approval of the request after Lawan read the letter.
That approval comes days after Tinubu named the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, his chief of staff.
He also named a former Governor of Benue State, George Akume, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).
