The governors were promptly ushered into the executive chamber by their host, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who also serves as the chairman of the forum.
Eko Hot Blog gathered that Sanwo-Olu is leading the meeting, which is expected to cover several issues of common interest to the South-West region.
The agenda of the meeting includes discussions on agriculture, food security, and regional economic growth. These topics are critical to advancing collaboration and development across the states in the zone. Another key issue on the table is the security of lives and property, which remains a top priority for all the governors.

A statement from Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, outlined the meeting’s focus on enhancing development initiatives and fostering regional cooperation. The media is expected to receive a briefing after the meeting concludes.
This gathering comes after a similar meeting held in Lagos on June 10, 2024, during which Sanwo-Olu was unanimously appointed as the chairman of the South-West Governors’ Forum. The current meeting highlights the ongoing efforts to address regional challenges and strengthen ties among the South-West states.
