EKO HOT BLOG reports that a Nigerian human rights activist, Omoyele Sowore, and presidential aspirant in the 2023 election, was on Wednesday thrown into deep mourning following the death of his great-grandmother, Moyinoluwa Comfort Olawoye.
Omoyele Sowore, the founder of an online news agency Sahara Reporters announced the death of the centenarian via his verified Twitter handle on Wednesday morning.
“My grandma mother, Moyinoluwa Comfort Olawoye, has passed on at approx age 100. We met for the last time two weeks ago during my visit my hometown. Rest in Power, Mama!” Sowore said.

Eight months ago (precisely in September 2021), Sowore’s immediate younger brother, Olajide, was shot dead by suspected kidnappers in Edo state.
Although Sowore, his wife Opeyemi, and children have been residents of Haworth, New Jersey, USA, activism has brought him to Nigeria.
He has been a thorn in the flesh of successive Nigerian governments and has been sanctioned and arrested severally.
