EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Head of Iku quarters, the Oniku of Iku, Ikare Akoko, High Chief Mukaila Bello and three others have been kidnapped.
They were kidnapped on Thursday evening at Ago Panu axis in Owo local government while returning from Akure.
Other victims were identified as a former House of Assembly candidate for Akoke Northeast constituency, Yeye Gbafinro, Hon Adeiran Adeyemo and Mr. Bashiru Adekile.
The driver, who is receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital, was left for dead by the kidnappers after he was inflicted with machete cuts.
The kidnappers had yet to contact the victims’ families or demand a ransom.
The attack and kidnap came barely weeks after an armed gang attacked a construction company in Owo, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu’s hometown.
Earlier, a Catholic Church in the same town was attacked, leaving at least 40 dead and several injured.
Ondo Police spokesman, SP Fumilayo Odunlami, did not pick calls made to her cell phone.
