EKO HOTBLOG reports that today, Monday, June 5, Oluremi Tinubu, the wife of Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu, made her inaugural visit to the office of the First Lady. She was warmly received by the Permanent Secretary of the State House, Tijjani Umar, and other department heads in the First Lady’s Office. Accompanied by her security team, Mrs. Tinubu was given a comprehensive tour of the various units within the First Lady’s wing, including the Administrative, ICT, Catering, Media, and Protocol Units.
It is worth noting that the First Lady, born on September 21, 1960, comes from a mixed heritage, with an Itsekiri mother and a Yoruba father. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from the University of Ife and has pursued additional courses at various educational institutions. Prior to her current role, she served as the wife of the Lagos State Governor from 1999 to 2007 and later assumed the position of Senator representing Lagos Central in the Senate. Throughout her tenure, Mrs. Tinubu has actively engaged in philanthropic endeavors, focusing on alleviating the challenges faced by vulnerable individuals within her constituency.
Furthermore, it is noteworthy that Mrs. Tinubu is a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the political party that facilitated her husband’s ascension to the presidency of Nigeria.
