-
Eno stands under the flagship of the Peoples Democratic Party, winning 29 of 31 local government areas in the State.
-
However in a strange light, Umo Eno’s rival from the APC, Akanimo Udofia faces a legal suit at the moment.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Akwa Ibom state, Umo Eno, the party’s governorship candidate, has emerged victorious in the recently concluded gubernatorial election.

According to reports, Eno, who had promised to implement a weekly “happy hour” moment in the state if elected into office, won in 29 of the 31 local government areas, while the Young Progressive Party (YPP) cleared two local government areas. The All Progressive Congress (APC), on the other hand, failed to win a single local government area in the election.
Eno’s victory was greeted with jubilation by PDP supporters who had gathered at the party’s campaign headquarters in Uyo, the state capital. In his acceptance speech, Eno thanked the people of Akwa Ibom state for their support and promised to deliver on his campaign promises, including the implementation of the “happy hour” moment.
Meanwhile, in a twist of events, a company owned by Akanimo Udofia, the governorship candidate of the APC in Akwa Ibom state, has been dragged to the Federal High Court in Lagos over unpaid debt. The company, Saidel Limited, is said to owe Hydrodive Nigeria Ltd., a company that offers oil and gas services, a significant amount of money.
The lawsuit was filed just a day before the governorship and state house of assembly elections were scheduled to take place in Akwa Ibom state. Hydrodive Nigeria Ltd. is seeking the court’s intervention to dissolve Saidel Limited, which they allege has failed to pay the debt owed to them despite several demands.
The lawsuit is likely to further complicate matters for the APC in Akwa Ibom state, which has been struggling to gain a foothold in the state’s political landscape.
