Members of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), on Monday, marched to the National Assembly in solidarity with judiciary workers who are demanding financial autonomy of the judicial arm of government.
The Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN), in an effort to press home their demands, had commenced a nationwide strike.
The placard-carrying JUSUN workers converged at the gate of the court of appeal in Abuja chanting solidarity songs.

However, a mild drama ensued as security officials locked the gate of the National Assembly and refused to allow the NBA members entry.
Upon sighting the lawyers in their vehicles, the security agents locked up the two gates to National Assembly.
“People like you can’t just be in the National Assembly…” one of the security officers told the lawyers.
The President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Olumide Akpata had, on Friday, directed state chairmen of the association to lead peaceful protests in solidarity with the judiciary workers.
