EKO HOT BLOG reports that each child received ₦100,000 and a smartphone from the state government as part of their reintegration package. Speaking on behalf of the governor, Dr. Abdulkadir Muazu Meyere, Secretary to the Kaduna State Government, emphasized Governor Sani’s commitment to supporting the youths through rehabilitation and empowerment programs aimed at helping them reintegrate as responsible community members.
Governor Sani’s administration plans to assist those who completed tertiary education by offering startup capital for small businesses, skills training, and employment opportunities. The government will also monitor the progress and conduct of each child, with privileges extended based on positive behavior. Comprehensive records of contact information were collected to aid in tracking and follow-up.
Each individual underwent a medical assessment and psycho-social counseling upon release to promote personal development and responsible citizenship. Religious leaders from both Islamic and Christian communities also provided guidance, stressing the importance of faith and the dangers of negative influences.
Dr. Meyere noted that the smartphones were provided to replace those lost during their detention, with Governor Sani’s administration also offering the financial support as a goodwill gesture.
