Kaduna State Local Government Council To Kick Start Payment Of New Minimum Wage

Local Government councils in Kaduna State have unanimously agreed to joined the State Government in paying the #30,000.00 New minimum wage to the employees of the 23  Local Government Councils with effect from September, 2019.As graciously approved by His, Excellency, the  Governor of Kaduna State Mal. Nasiru Ahmed El-Rufa’i OFR.

The decision to pay the New National minimum wage was taken during the state/Local Government Joint Account Allocation Commitee Meeting for the month of Sept,2019 held on 2nd Oct, 2019  in the Conference Hall of the Ministry of Local Government Affairs.

The Meeting was Presided by the Hon. Commissioner Ministry of Local Government Affairs Alh.Ja’afaru Ibrahim Sani and attended by all the 23 Local Government Councils Chairmen in the State.

The development has further underscored the importance of the reform of the Local Government Service as most of the Local Governments were insolvent before the assumption of Office of the Present Administration in May 2015.

In view of this Positive development, the Hon. Commissioner Alh.Ja’afaru Ibrahim Sani  Used the Opportunity to urge all employees of the Local Government Councils in the State to reciprocate this good gesture by rededicating themselves to their Primary responsibilities for the development of our Country.
