A Non-Governmental Organization known as Global Peace Foundation Nigeria, GPFN, has appealed to Christian and Muslim leaders in Kajuru local government area of Kaduna state to play critical roles by preaching love, forgiveness, and tolerance to their members toward restoring peaceful coexistence in the area.
The appeal became imperative following the continuous attacks and unrest, leading to loss of lives and destruction of properties of natives and the Hausa -Fulani Communities.
The Country Director, Global Peace Foundation Nigeria, GPFN, Rev John Joseph Hayab, made the appeal during a sensitization outreach organized for 60 religious clerics from Kajuru local government area of Kaduna state, Northwest Nigeria.
Rev. Joseph Hayap explained that The sensitization program which brought together Christian and Muslim preachers from the most affected areas was targeted at rebuilding their trust and confidence to enable them to live in peace and harmony for the economic survival of their communities

He encouraged the religious leaders to intensify effort in preaching messages of love to their congregations to enhance better understanding and relationship between the adherence of the two major religions in the area
“Our religious books have many teachings about peace, love, forgiveness, and tolerance for every human being.
“We are therefore pleading with you to make good use of your places of worship to tell men and women, young and old to be peace promoters so that Kajuru local government, Kaduna state and the country as a whole will enjoy peace, unity, and development.
The Northern Coordinator of GPFN, Sheikh Halilu Abdulahi, reminded them that God had given them the great and sacred task of preaching peace and unity to contribute their quota for the corporate existence of the country.
“Your roles as peacebuilders of any society are needed as the country is faced with so many challenges that require all hands to be on deck for the survival of Nigeria.
The Chairman of CAN and JNI in Kajuru local government Rev.Makama Mazadu and Imam Shafiu.M promised to continue to used their Churches and mosques to preach messages of peace for harmonious coexistence in kajuru and environs as the NGO distributed peace educational materials to participants.
