EKO HOT BLOG reports that Kalidou Koulibaly, a Chelsea defender, has admitted that he has not been performing at his best since joining the club last summer.
He made this revelation ahead of the Blues’ Champions League match against Real Madrid on Wednesday.
The Senegalese international, who was signed from Napoli for £33 million, said in an interview with The Times that he is not yet operating at 100% capacity, but he believes he is gradually getting to his level.
Koulibaly stated that he is determined to give his all to Chelsea, who took a significant risk by signing him last summer.
He expressed his desire to remain with the club for many years, adding that he wants to be a part of their future successes.
He acknowledged that the current season has not gone as planned for Chelsea, with new ownership and half the team being new. However, he believes that everyone is adapting to the changes and is determined to win back the confidence of the supporters.
Chelsea is currently lagging far behind from the top four chase in the Premier League and are out of the FA Cup.
They will face Real Madrid in the quarter-finals of the Champions League on Wednesday, and Koulibaly is expected to play a crucial role in the match.
