EKO HOT BLOG reports that according to the notice, the outage on the Mando to Kumbotso 330kV line will run from January 17 to April 17, 2026. The Shiroro to Mando 330kV line will be affected from January 17 to February 17, 2026.
KEDCO stated that the interruption will occur on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm throughout the affected period.
The company explained that the temporary outage is required to enable the Transmission Company of Nigeria to commence installation of Optical Ground Wire under the Nigeria Electricity Transmission Project.
It noted that the upgrade is aimed at strengthening transmission infrastructure and improving long term service delivery across the network.
KEDCO assured customers that not all areas would experience a complete blackout during the period. The company said alternative supply arrangements have been put in place, with some locations to be back fed from other sources to reduce disruption.
“We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to ensure a more reliable electricity supply across our franchise area,” the notice read.

The announcement comes amid ongoing concerns from electricity consumers over supply instability. Many residents in the affected states have expressed hope that the planned transmission upgrade will lead to improved and more stable power delivery in the months ahead.
