The Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, has urged the Kano state Independent Electoral Commission to ensure the conduct of a violence-free election during the forthcoming local government elections in the state.
The monarch made the call on Wednesday while receiving the management of KANSEIC in his palace who paid him a courtesy visit as part of preparations for next year’s local governments election in the state

Recall that the state Independent Electoral Commission has fixed 16th January 2021 for the conduct of the council’s election in the state.
The royal father said “Kano is known to be leading in all ramifications, it is leading other States in other spheres of life, hence there is the need for continuous sensitization and enlightenment of the public for the need to have a peaceful electoral process to avert anything that can cause a crisis.’’
Earlier, the KANSEIC Chairman, Prof. Garba Ibrahim-Sheka said they were at the palace to seek for his blessings and also inform him about the level of the commission’s preparation for the forthcoming local governments polls.
