Kano: Emir Sanusi Calls For Peaceful LG Polls

The Emir of Kano, Malam Muhammadu Sanusi II, has called on eligible voters in the state to exercise their franchise and elect candidates of their choice in Saturday’s Local Government election.

Sunusi made this call while addressing newsmen at his palace on Friday.

The Emir stressed the importance of shunning violence and any attempts to disrupt the elections.

He urged the residents to maintain peace and avoid violence before during and after the elections.

“To you parents, you have to prevent your children from being used as agents of destruction. Don’t form or aid miscreants recruited to cause trouble,” he added.

The former CBN governor also encouraged cooperation with the Kano State Independent Electoral Commission to ensure a smooth electoral processes.
