At the Nassarawa Mini Palace, Dan’Agundi rejected the appellate court’s decision, vowing to appeal to the Supreme Court. “The emirship crisis is far from over; we are challenging this ruling at the highest level,” he declared.
“I’ve instructed my lawyers to obtain a certified true copy of the judgment. Once we appeal to the Supreme Court, the lower court’s decision is stayed until the case is resolved,” he clarified.
He explained the Court of Appeal’s ruling: “The lead judge recommended transferring the case to the state’s Chief Judge for a fair hearing, but the court ruled it lacked jurisdiction, without dismissing our claims.”
Dan’Agundi emphasised, “The other two judges disagreed, leading to the appeal being struck out. We are now taking the matter to the Supreme Court. Whatever the final decision, we submit to the will of Allah. Until then, no one should declare victory.”
He urged calm and lawfulness among Kano residents while the legal process continues.
