Kano Fire Service Rescues Woman, Two Sons From Collapsed Building
The Kano State Fire Service successfully rescued a woman and her two sons from a collapsed building in the Makwarari area of Kano Municipal Local Government Area on Friday.
The incident occurred in a one-storey residential building measuring 30 by 40 feet, which unexpectedly collapsed, trapping the family inside.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the rescue operation was confirmed by the Public Relations Officer of the Kano State Fire Service, Saminu Abdullahi, in a statement released to the press. Abdullahi stated that the emergency was reported around 9:30 a.m. by Ibrahim Isah, a staff member of the fire service, who alerted the control room about the building collapse.
In response to the emergency call, the fire service quickly dispatched a team of firemen to the scene. Upon arrival, the rescue team immediately began efforts to free the trapped individuals. Thanks to their swift and coordinated actions, the woman and her two sons were successfully rescued from the rubble.
The statement highlighted the importance of quick reporting and prompt action in emergency situations, which were crucial in ensuring the safety of the victims. The Kano State Fire Service continues to urge residents to report emergencies promptly to enable timely intervention and potentially save lives.
Abdullahi stated that the victims were rescued alive and taken to Murtala Muhammed Specialist Hospital, Kano, for treatment.

The statement listed the names of the victims as Balaraba Abba (mother), 35, Abdulnasir Jilani, 12, and Abdullahi Jilani, 9.
It stated that the cause of the incident was under investigation.
