In a statement issued and signed by the board’s Information Officer, Abdullahi Sani Sulaiman, Samha had been repeatedly warned about her “crude dressing and vulgar displays,” but she continued to flout the board’s regulations and as such the board had resolved to suspend her.

The board issued a statement clarifying the terms of the suspension imposed on Samha saying she is effectively barred from appearing in any films for the next 12 months, as per the board’s decision.

The suspension is in response to multiple complaints received from the public and concerned citizens in Kano, highlighting the actress’ conduct which allegedly violates the board’s regulations.

In addition to the suspension, the board has also revoked Samha’s operating licenses and ceased censoring any films featuring her.
