EKO HOT BLOG reports that Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, has declared that he is unsure which political party he will hand over power to after his tenure. The governor made this statement during the commissioning of some road projects in the state.
Governor Ganduje stated that it is normal for a government to inherit projects and complete them while leaving some for the incoming administration.
However, he added that he is uncertain which political party he will hand over power to, whether it will be the All Progressives Congress (APC) or the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).
The NNPP’s Abba Yusuf was declared the winner of the 2023 governorship election in the state by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). However, the APC is disputing the results of the election in court.
It is important to note that Governor Ganduje has not explicitly stated that he will not hand over power to the winner of the governorship election. His statement may simply suggest that he is open to the possibility of the APC winning the court case and retaining power in Kano State.
